Relaxation CD's

Relaxation cd’s with music, sounds, or narration can be found at bookstores, music stores, department store kiosks and on the internet (just Google relaxation). Two sites that offer biofeedback resources, including books and cd’s are:

E-Z Air

E-Z air is a computer application that can assist your breathing rate and pattern to allow initiation of proper relaxation responses. Go to and click on “download E-Z air plus”. The Stens Breath Metronome is another application from Stens Corporation.

Emwave or StressEraser

Emwave or StressEraser are similar products, and provide a compact tool for monitoring and training heart rate variability, the key indicator for the body’s relaxation response. Check out for the emwave unit, or go to

Software Programs

There are two PC based programs that are designed to aid relaxation by helping you activate your parasympathetic nervous system through proper breathing and cognitive focusing techniques:

  • HeartMath’s emwave PC uses finger or earlobe sensors to measure heart rate variability.
  • The Wild Divine’s Healing Rhythms ( measures skin conductance response, another measure of the body’s relaxation process, in addition to heart rate variability.

Hand Temperature Training Units

Stens Corporation and Bio-Medical both have hand temperature training units. The ability to increase your skin temperature is a good indicator that you are initiating a relaxation response.
